Scope and content
Collections of Henry Corder (1855-1944), nurseryman, relating mostly to churches; compiled c. 1880-1938. Corder moved from Essex to Bridgwater, c. 1890. He was an active member of the Bridgwater Field Club and a Council member of the Somerset Archaeological and Natural History Society (SANHS). Obituary in Bridgwater Mercury, 21 Nov.1944. He left a series of numbered bound volumes of notes, drawings, photographs, etc., relating to churches and other historic buildings. Contents lists of parishes in each volume.

The eighteen volumes in this collection were deposited in SA by Somerset Archaeological and Natural History Society (SANHS) in 1975; volumes 6, 8, 9, 12, 17, 18, relating mainly to Somerset, were retained by SANHS; volumes 5,7, 20 are missing.
