Scope and content
"Nothing remains of the chapel on the site of a lane leading to Bordesley Abbey ruins. The stone was reused in the boundary of the new chapel [of St Stephen, Redditch].
The burial ground is still used for burials. Inscriptions on grave markers are given with the caveat that wear made the dates difficult to record accurately.
Inscriptions including a name:
William Bell, [date unreadable], blacksmith & farrier
William Reading, 14 July 1802, aged 54. 3 of his sons died infants.
James Millward, 5 March 1789, aged 39.
James Millward, 18 Sept 1782, aged 63. Mary his wife, 31 March 1809, aged 62. Thomas their son, 7 February 1809, aged 37.
Eddy, wife of John Mence of Redditch, 3 Oct 1770, aged 55.
Richard Chillingworth, 8 July 1779.
Grace Chillingworth his wife, 20 Ju... 1788, aged 47.
Fanny wife of Edward Field, daughter of Richard and Grace Chillingworth, 22 July 170?, aged 40.”
