Scope and content
SAL was involved informally in the supervision of excavations of Roman sites in the City of London, in liaison with the Corporation of London. In 1927 this arrangement was formalised by the appointment by SAL of an Investigator of Excavations for the City. Inspectors: E.B. Birley 1927-1928; G.C. Dunning 1929-1934; F. Cottrill, 1934-1937.
