Title
Townshend's Annales, 1640-1663 [collaborative cataloguing]
Level of description
series
Scope and content
According to E A B Barnard, ‘The Prattinton Collections of Worcestershire History’ (1931) (digitised copy available at https://collections.sal.org.uk/pra.12.01) “this volume contains Prattinton's transcript, which he made c. 1820, of "the original Manuscript in a small thick quarto Volume, half-bound and lettered 'Townshend's Manuscript’." There is an Index. (pp. 473-500).
This transcript was apparently unknown to the late Mr. J. W. Willis Bund, when he wrote his masterly Introduction to the "Diary of Henry Townshend of Elmley Lovett. 1640-1663." The
Diary was published in two volumes by the Worcestershire Historical Society, one volume appearing in 1915 and the other in 1920. The original MS. is now in the possession of Mr. C. W. Dyson Perrins, F.S.A.”
