Two leaves from the Latin translation of the Arabic encyclopedia of medicine, in twenty-five volumes, known as El havy, compiled by Mohammed Abu Bekr Ibn-Zacoria better known as Rhases. Written in Italy. Inscription at the end, in a different hand, beg. 'Explicit translatio libri elhavy in medicina..'. The original manuscript of the translation made for Charles of Anjou is Paris, Bibl. Nat. MS lat. 6912 (see L. Delisle, Recherches sur la librairie de Charles V, I (1907), 270-2). Pen sketch in one margin of the domed head of a bearded man. Much trimmed (present size c. 217mm x 155mm). Later ink numbers '63' and ’39'.
