Scope and content
A genealogical tree, running from the foot upwards, showing the descent of Henry IV of England from Ethelwulf and Rollo, 1st Duke of Normandy, and alongside on the left the kings of France from 'Feramundus' to Lothair and from Hugh Capet to 'Karolus rex francie modernus' (Charles VI, d. 1422). Near the foot a text beg. 'Gallia sive francia ut ait Randolphus a candore populi est denominata'. No heraldic devices. Some later (17th century) additions to the text. On the dorse unfinished Anglo-Saxon genealogies, late 15th century. Ker, MMBL, I (1969), 313.

Belonged to Sir Henry Spelman and Henry St George ('Henrici St. George Militis ex dono Henrici Spelmanni 1632', at foot of obverse). On the dorse '31' in ink. Exhibited to SA ('brought', Minute Book III, p. 250) by Lord Coleraine, VPSA, 22 Nov. 1739.
