Scope and content
A copy of the ordinary compiled by Robert Glover, Somerset Herald, with variations; early 17th century, with additions (e.g. relating to 1634, fol. 49v). Note, fol. 230v, 'this booke consists of 376 leves where of 230 is donne. It is in the occupation of Mr Neve' (afterwards Sir William Le Neve, Clarenceux). Later annotations by Peter Le Neve, Norroy, fol. iii and throughout. Index (unnumbered), late 17th century, precedes the main contents. Many MS copies of Glover's ordinary exist. It was first published in Joseph Edmondson's A Complete Body of Heraldry (1780).
