Papers of Sir William Le Neve, Clarenceux 1635, relating to grants of arms, pedigrees, funerals, etc.; c. 1636-41. Annotated by John Anstis, senior, Garter (see also SAL/MS/476, p. iv), fol. vi, 'I 5' 'Allowances of Arms by Sr. Wm. Le Neve Clarenceux'.

Contents:-

(1) Arms in trick with notes in several hands relating to grants. fols. 1-6;-

(2) Arms, mostly in trick, a few in colour, with notes in several hands relating to grants or proofs of arms, and references to visitations and records in the College of Arms. Dates of death given to 1639. fols. 8-29;-

(3) Papers relating to evidences and grants of arms, pedigrees (Moulston of Moulstondale, Cheshire, fols. 61-2v, Hamley of Treblethick, Cornwall, fol. 68), and arms approved for use at funerals (fols. 73-4, 84-92), 1636-41.

Included are signed statements of applicants for arms, memoranda and signatures of Sir William Le Neve and others. A few coloured arms. fols. 34-93.
