Scope and content
Two manuscripts bound together. (1) Court rolls of manors in Wilts., Somerset and Dorset belonging to Lady Anne Beauchamp; 1635-41. Index of manors, fol. v. Anne, daughter of Robert Sackville, 2nd Earl of Dorset, married in 1609 Edward Seymour, styled Lord Beauchamp (d. 1618) and, after the death of her second husband, Sir Edward Lewes in 1630, administered as Lady Anne Beauchamp. Extract from a later court roll, 1696, fol. 170. fols. 1-170; (2) Rough tricks of the arms and crests of the Knights of the Garter from the first foundation to the time of Queen Elizabeth; c. 1600. Titlepage (fol. 1*) added by Peter Le Neve, Norroy (with his signature). Smaller leaves of pinkish paper containing supplementary tricks, now numbered fols. 15*, 22-4. fols. 1*-24.
