Scope and content
Proof impressions, etc., from several series of engravings; c. 1637-73 (some dates added in MS). Part of a larger collection (many items bearing numbers from 8-108, with gaps), formerly stitched together. Mostly laid down on paper mounts, with MS annotations in French identifying the arms, fols. 1-87; unmounted engravings at fols. 88-96. The engravers most prominently represented are Pierre Nolin and Pierre Nolin L'Ainé (fols. 2-92 passim) and Jean Noblin (fols. 4-94 passim). Other engravers included are:- Philippe Charles Mavelot, fols. 60,68, P. Mavelot le Jeune, fol. 66, C. Girardet, fol. 63, Claude Magneney, fol. 64, Paule Dauvillico, fol. 65, Philippe Mignot, fol. 72, Louis Mignot, fols. 73 (95?), N.Barbe, fol. 79, S. Doutreau, fol. 81, D. Taboureux, fol. 82, Charlot, fol. 84, P. Ladame, fol. 86, Federic Allin, fol. 96. The indexes at fols. ii-xi do not relate to the present collection.
