Grant of arms and a jewel ('Clainot' here = the crest; cf. J.O.Salver, Proben des hohen Deutschen Reichs Adels (1775), 101) by Charles, Archduke of Austria, to Hans Droffner, goldsmith; Brixen, 29 Jan. 1621. Fine seal of the Archduke, in red wax, set in a brown wax saucer, attached by a twisted cord of pink and yellow silk. The arms, helm and crest are painted in the centre of the grant. MSS/0392 and MSS/0441/D show jewels hanging from the helm.
