Carta executoria de hidalguia, or attestation of nobility, granted by Philip II of Spain, to Diego de Villena del Oyo of Cuellar; Valladolid, 3 March 1589. Lacks seal, portion of cord remains. The grant is preceded by an illuminated page (p.ii verso) showing the arms of Villena beneath the BVM and child, with kneeling figures of Diego de Villena, his wife and daughter. A few initials in gold on strips of red or blue; decorated partial border, p. 1.
