Carta executoria de hidalguia, or attestation of nobility, by Philip II of Spain, to Diego Parexa de Peralta; 12 August 1586. Lacks seal. The text (pp. 1-97) is preceded by two full-page illuminations (fol. iii verso and facing recto) of the Crucifixion, and an ancestor of the grantee (in the guise of St Michael) fighting the Moors; beneath the second illumination the arms of Parexa. Several small illuminated initials. Signatures of officials, p.97, fol. iii.
