Scope and content
Genealogical records of the Steinhauser family of Amberg, Bavaria, from 1320-1605, with coloured arms throughout; 1607 (cf. fol. 15). German. Introduction (fols. 1-13), dated 24 Nov. 1603, followed by a full- page coloured achievement of the Steinhauser family (fol. 15), in an architectural frame, with the initials 'D.R. 1607'; at the top the title 'GENEALOGIA'. Admonition conc. the genealogy, with quotations from Proverbs and the Psalms, fols. 16r,v. Index of male members of the Steinhauser family, fols. 17-20, followed by indexes of marriages of sons, fols. 21-3, and marriage alliances of daughters, fols. 24-6. Main contents begin, fol. 28, with a statement on the earliest records of the family from 1320, followed (fols. 28v-30) by an account of Gottfridt I, with his arms and seal, and continuing with his successors to 1605.
