Scope and content
Twenty (mostly non-consecutive) leaves from a larger collection (beginning at fol. 41 of an earlier foliation) containing 148 coloured achievements of arms; late 16th century. Arranged four to a page (some versos blank). Mostly German, but some arms from Austria, Alsace, and areas to the east of Germany, are included. Most of the MS annotations identifying the arms are 19th century; a few are earlier (?17th century). Dates, 1592 (fol. 4v), 1596 (fol. 7v). Last leaf, fol. 21, containing four achievements, is later (?late 17th century). Some outlines engraved.
