Geschlecht Buch der Heiligen Reichs Stat Nürnberg ... (by Johann Kaler, Nuremberg, 1610). Two sets of engraved plates, one hand- coloured, from the publication by Kaler of the arms of noble families of Nuremberg from whom the council (Rath) had been chosen during the previous 300 years. Each family is represented by a figure in 16th-century costume bearing a shield. Two duplicate uncoloured plates, with blank shields, assigned to the Ahl and Altroser families, fols. 1,2, are assigned to different families at fols. 84,88. Tetzel family, fol. 145, lacks one plate. MS notes, German, on the history of each family, on the versos of the coloured plates. The plates are bound in alphabetical order of families.
