An unfinished armorial of the Knights of the Garter in the reign of James I. Contains 26 shields in trick, entered in printed outlines. The last shield (fol. 26) is that of James Hamilton, 2nd Marquess of Hamilton, installed 22 Apr. 1623. The inscriptions, in French, under the shields are incomplete and incorrect; corrected inscriptions, with dates 1620, are added by a professional hand over the shields (cf. fols. 3,5). Pencil notes for a continuation to after 1625 at the head of fols. 27-34. Later annotations throughout.
