Scope and content
The rule of St Saviour (of the Brigittine order). Written at the Brigittine Abbey of Maria Troon, Dendermonde, Flanders (see U. Sander Olsen, 'Handschriften en boeken uit het Birgittinessenklooster Maria Troon te Dendermonde', Ons geestelijk erf, 63-4 (1989-90), 89-106). Includes copies of the confirmations of Martin V, 1419 (fols. 1-2v) and Urban VI, 3 Dec. 1378 (not 1379 as given in this MS; fols. 28-9) of the rule drawn up for the monastery of Watzstena (Vadstena), diocese of Linköping, Sweden; the rule (fols. 2v-28); and an addition, 17th century, of an order of profession, Flemish (fols. 29v-30v). Initials and marginal decoration, fols. 1, 8. S. Eklund (ed.), Regula Salvatoris (Samlingar utgivna av Svenska Fornskriftsällskapet, Ser. 2, Latinska skrifter, Sancta Birgitta, Opera Minora, VIII: 1, Lund 1975), 14, 53, cannot place MSS/0339 exactly in relation to other sources and suggests that the text may be contaminated.
