Vellum binding. At fols. i-iv fragments of a 16th century printed encyclopaedia. Reference to 'Mr Thornetone one of the Gromes of the princes Chamber', fol. i. 'Sum E. Umfrevile' (date, 1730, added), fol. 13, and note by him, fol. 120v (Edward Umfreville, FSA 1740).
Scope and content
The poem formerly attributed to Richard Rolle. Begins imperfectly, fol. 13, at line 2320 (of the Morris edition); fols. 1-12v contain lines 1384-2320 in modernised spelling, 16th century. Ends imperfectly at line 9604.
