Paper; ff. ii + 133. Quarto. Original wooden boards, covered with white leather, with chain-staple on the back cover. Binding strips visible after fols. 6, 11, 120. Labels pasted on the front cover bear the title 'Lucianus' (first letter in red) and pressmark 'P. 111' (in red). Front pastedown (fol. i) from a 13th century calendar (Otmari abbatis, 17? Nov.; many later obits entered). Back pastedown (fol. ii) from a 13th century MS relating to technical philosophical terms.
Scope and content
Written in South Germany or Austria; see Ker, MMBL, I (1969), 309. The miscellaneous items include:- (1) Notes on Biblical characters, Adam to Judas. fols. 95-108v;- (2) Treatise on penitence, confession, etc., preceded (fol. 109) by notes on sins, etc. fols. 109-15;- (3) Medical recipes, fol. 115v;- (4) Dissertation on Advent, commentary on the Ave Maria, treatise on the frequency of communion (end imperfect). fols. 116-27v;- (5) Decrees of the provincial council at Salzburg, 25 Jan. 1386 (ed. G. D. Mansi, Sacrorum Conciliorum.. collectio nova, XXVI (1759, etc.), 725-31), preceded by a letter of Pilgrinus, Archbishop of Salzburg. fols. 129-30v;- (6) Notes on ecclesiastical elections, canon law, etc. fols. 128, 130v-3v.
