Scope and content
Preface and sixty-eight numbered lives of saints (originally sixty-nine, cf. list, fol. iv verso) by Jean de Mailly, OP; commenced early 15th century and continued (fol. 17) by a slightly later hand. A. Dondaine, 'Jean de Mailly et la Légende Dorée', Archives d'histoire dominicaine, 1 (1946), 53-102, lists twenty copies, but not this one; see Ker, MMBL, I (1969), 308-9. The lives (fols. 1-62v) are in the order of the church year beginning at 30 Nov. (Andrew) and ending imperfectly at 29 June (Peter); life 69, Paul, is missing. Followed (fols. 63-76) by sermons on the ferial gospels for four weeks in Lent. Penwork initials in red and blue, fol. 1.
