Vellum; ff. ii + 6. Small quarto. Cloth, brown. Red box. Scribblings on fol. 1 include the name of John Hobson and the opening of an indenture. Marginal notes include, fol. 4v, 'From January 1603 to January 1604 p(re)sent 154', etc.
Scope and content
Calendar possibly from a breviary or missal; early 15th century. Later 15th century additions include both feasts of St Erkenwald (30 Apr., 14 Nov.), and the feasts of SS Faustus (6 Feb.) and Mildred (20 Feb., 13 July), suggesting use in the City of London; and 'Lodowicy' (24 June). Record of an earthquake, 1382 (20 May). Reference to the marriage of Prince Arthur, 1501, at 14 November. The birth of Anthony Catesby (son of Humphrey Catesby, d. 1504, and grandson of Sir John Catesby, d. 1486, Judge of the Common Bench) is recorded at 17 Jan. Ker, MMBL, I (1969), 308. (Inf.
