Scope and content
A collection, possibly professional, of short entries relating to the duties of heralds, etc.. Begins with a note of an agreement at a chapter of heralds held, 4 Eliz., in the Imbroderers Hall, London, relating to the armorial bearings of an heiress, and ends with creations of Earls and Barons, 1603-5. Latest date given is in a note of installments and offerings of KGs, 21 May 1606, fol. 10. Contents listed in Ellis (1816), 68-9. Includes forms of oaths, fees, orders of proceeding at funerals, degrees of honour, and lists of the seven Electors of the Holy Roman Empire (fols. 9-10), Imperial Princes, etc. Added at the end, fol. 11, note of the creation of Sir John Roper as 1st Baron Teynham, 1616, with a reference to his son, Christopher, as Lord Roper (succeeded 1618; d. 1622) and his children.
