Scope and content
Kentish pedigrees and memoranda, partly in the hand of John Thorpe, senior; mainly 1718-38 (fol. 70). Arranged in alphabetical order and bound, c. 1864. Contents list by C.S.Perceval, FSA, fol. iii recto, verso. Incorporates a few pedigrees formerly with 199 (Ellis, art.5). Earlier pedigree (fols. 51-2) of Featherstonehalgh (to 1635). Letter (fols. 61-2v) of William Ayerst to Thorpe regarding his family connections, 16 Nov. 1723. Contains material relating to the Paynter family of Gillingham including a letter from Thorpe, 21 June 1727 (fol. 95 bis) and a draft monumental inscription, fols. 92v-6; and to the Wilford (Wilsford) family including a pedigree and correspondence of Robert Wilford of Rochester, 1718, fols. 138-48.
