'Saggio di un Elogio Istorico di Amerigo Vespucci Presentato al secondo Concorso della Accademia Etrusca di Cortona da..' (fol. iv). A panegyric of Amerigo Vespucci delivered to the Etruscan Academy at Cortona by Adam Fabbroni of Florence; (submitted for a prize offered by Count Jean Louis de Durford, French minister in Tuscany, see Proc., 2nd ser., 3 (1864-7), 38).
Consisting of:- Prefatory letters of the author to the public, fol. v, and to the Secretary of the Academy, fols. vii-ix verso; an appraisal of Vespucci's life, written in a highly rhetorical style, fols. 1-34; notes to the above, fols. 1-52v; and thirteen plates, consisting of tinted wash and ink copies of early maps, two astrolabes, etc., to illustrate the essay on Vespucci. A marginal note, fol. ix, cites a notice in the Gazzetta Toscana, no. 11 (1777) of a paper read by the author to the Accademia degli Apatisti, with particular reference to Vespucci.
