Scope and content
Report by Daniel Barbaro to the Venetian Senate on his embassy to Edward VI, 1551; copy, in two hands, made from the original manuscript in the private library of Ludovico Manin, Doge of Venice, 7 Dec. 1795 (note, fol. 20). The succession of this branch of the Barbaro family passed to the Manin family (note, fol. 20). Probably made for George, 1st Earl Macartney, FSA (d. 1806), when on his mission to Louis XVIII of France in Verona. Published from this manuscript (Relazione dell'Illustrissimo Daniel Barbaro, P. Daponte e Vogel, London, c. 1800).
