Register of writs from the royal chancery beginning with a writ of right, 1 Nov. 13 Hen. VI (1434). See Ker, MMBL, I (1969), 304. Arranged by type of writ, substantially in the order of the registers listed by Sir W. Holdsworth, History of English Law, II (4th ed., 1936), 516-20, 615-40. Small initial of a king, fol. 1. Later additions, 16th century, include recipes in English for ink, fol. 198, legal matter and a medical recipe, fols. 198v-9v, and a calendar, Jan.-May, including Erkenwald, 30 Apr., and noting propitious signs of the zodiac for journeys, fols. 210-12. Index, fols. 204-8, 15th-16th century, with a note (top of fol. 204) referring to the register of Robert Harrys 'whiche he lent to me Robt ffletewood'.
