Scope and content
A description of the duties of the officers from the steward to menial servants, fols. 1-18v, followed by tables of provisions in season with sample menus for each month, Jan.-Dec. 1605, fols. 19-31; other tables of provisions, cuts of meat, and a sample week's consumption of provisions, 6-11 Oct. 1605, fols. 31v-4. At fols. 36-46v, instructions to stewards and other officers regarding outside work, tree felling, charcoal making, etc., arranged by months, dated 1606 (fol. 46v). List of directions 'Concerninge my lo: estate by Mr ffrauncis Ploydon', fols. 47v-9. Exemplary lists of workmen (designated A, B, etc.) making billets in 'Kingscleere Loades', 1, 8 Oct. 1608, giving number of loads and prices, fol. 50.
