Household books of Sir John Howard (Duke of Norfolk, 1483; killed at Bosworth Field, 22 Aug. 1485), also containing records of his naval and military duties, and (MSS/0077) later material, temp. Hen. VII, including household accounts of his son, Thomas, Earl of Surrey; 1481-91. Published by John Payne Collier (ed.), Household Books of John Duke of Norfolk, and Thomas Earl of Surrey (Roxburghe Club, 1844). See Household Accounts from medieval England, ed. C. M. Woolgar (British Academy, 2 vols., 1992-3) II, 703-4. MSS/0076 was in SA by 1800 and was included in John Brand's return to the Select Committee on Public Records, 21 March 1800 (Ants. Papers 1800). Richard (Howard), 4th Earl of Effingham, FSA, exhibited, in 1792, a rent roll of John Mowbray, Duke of Norfolk (Minute Book XXIV, 29 March 1792).
