Note, fol. 5v, conc. the acquisition of the collection by George Allan, and letters, 1742, fols. 6-8v, relating to attempts by the compiler's nephew, Thomas Smith, to sell the collection, which then also included seven heraldic manuscripts; these were said to be mostly by Sir Thomas Wriothesley, Garter, including a 'Registrum Armorum Anglicanorum' (letter of Thomas Smith, 1742, fol. 8r, v).

Main contents:- Transcripts of papal bulls, charters, accounts, assize of bread, list of medieval halls (aulae), leases, will of Sir Joseph Williamson, etc.
