Memoirs of the life of Thomas Martin of Palgrave, FSA (1697-1771), by Sir John Fenn, FSA, with an account of the dispersal of Martin's collections of MSS, books, pictures, coins and other curiosities (titlepage, fol. 1). Covering letter, Jan. 1779, fol. 2.

Martin married as his second wife, Frances, widow of Peter Le Neve, Norroy (d. 1729). Fenn's paper was read to SA, 23 Nov. 1780 (Minute Book XVII, pp. 171-81). Silhouette portrait of Martin, taken in 1770, laid down on fol. 1v; cutting of signature of Martin, fol. ii. The MS of an expanded version by Fenn, 1784, owned by the Rev. Dr Augustus Jessopp, was published in Norfolk Archaeology, 15 (1904), 233-66; the later version has further details of the dispersal of Martin's collections.
