'A Shelter For the godly in thease times of danger' by Robert Abbott, 'preacher of gods word at Cranebrooke [Cranbrook] in Kent' (fol. 1). Summary of the whole, and of the twelve chapters, fols. Iv-2v. Main text, fols. 3-60, written by a Puritan divine. Reference to the Spanish journey (1623) of Charles I (when Prince of Wales), 'our now gracious king', fol. 43; and to the 'woeful spectacle of the Palatinate' (popular pressure for its recovery, temp. Chas. I), fol. 46. The author can be identified as Robert Abbott, minister of St Austin's, Watling Street, London, and of Southwick, Hants., who published religious tracts including The Danger of Popery (1625).
