'Raccolta d'iscrizzioni Antiche esistenti in varie Città del Regno di Napoli' (fol. 2). Copies of classical inscriptions (mostly Latin, a few Greek) seen by the compiler, Matteo Geronimo Maza, in the Kingdom of Naples ('Inscriptiones Marmoreae, quas vidi, et descripsi', fol. 10); compiled c. 1600. Ownership inscription (overwritten), 'ego Mattheus Hieronymus Maza..', fol. 10. Arranged by locations, with marginal notes throughout giving later locations, one dated 1618, fol. 11; others in the form 'nunc apud MHSM' (monogram of Maza). Contents list, fol. 10. Some pen drawings included, e.g. fol. 101. Note, 18th century, fol. 9v, referring to the present MS when it was in the library of Cardinal Brancaccio in the church of St Angelo, Naples: 'Qual libro fu di Matteo Geronimo Maza, comprato nell' 1608 - e nel frontispicio vi stà il suo Nome' (the library of Cardinal Francesco Maria Brancaccio (d. 1675) was placed in the church of St Angelo after his death). The same writer annotated fols. 62v-3v in 1725, 1737.

Monogram 'MHSM' [Mattheus Hieronymus Maza] on the spine. Later ownership inscription, 'Ex libris ...', fol. 9v, overwritten by a member of the Del Monte family. 'AS', centre fol. 9v. Presented to Sir William Hamilton, KB, when Minister Plenipotentiary in the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies (1764-1800), by Nicodemo Del Monte (inscription, fol.3).
