Scope and content
Church notes relating to Kent, mainly relating to heraldry. Index loose at front of Volume, listing the 63 entries alphabetically (Ashford to Wootton) and in order of appearance; includes MS note that the volume contains notes made by FL himself, with reference to printed books, 'Parsons' Monuments', 'Cozens' and some other MSS. MS notes include details of blazons, brasses, monuments, ledger stones, glass windows, inscriptions. Loose inserts in the volume include: (1) note at front of volume indicating "Brought by R.H. D'Elboux with apologies, Jan 10 1953"; (2) Programmes for the 75th Excursion of the Kent Archaeological Society to Tenterden and Hythe, June 23-24 1931 and the 81st Excurstion to Teynham, Bapchild, Sharsted Court, Doddington and Lenham; (3) 2 brass rubbings from Saltwood Church: (i) Angel holding heart and (ii) On Tomb of Anne wife of William Muston 1496; (4) Printed Abridged Street Map of Canterbury, dated 1924 and enumerating locations of 25 churches, 10 objects of interest and 4 hotels.
