Grant by John Carlell, esq., to his mother Elizabeth, widow of John Carlell, knight, for her life of an annuity of 16s 6d due from John Patson under a deed of 20 Aug. 1479 by which John Carlell granted Patson a great tenement with a dovecote and garden in 'Pilgremestret' (Pilgrim Street), reserving an annuity of 16s 6d. The tenement, which is inhabited by a tenant, Thomas Geffrayson, 'litster', lies between the land formerly belonging to his father, John Carlell, knight, on the south and the land of John Brigham on the north. Seal fragment on seal tag, detached and enclosed in document.
