Scope and content
Grant of indulgence for 40 days by 12 (named) foreign bishops to persons attending the church of St Nicholas, Newcastle, on specified festivals and other occasions; to those who assisted in the repairing of the said church, or gifted it with lamps, books, chalices, vestments, or any other necessary ornaments; to those who gave, or left to it by will, gold, silver, or any part of their substance; to those who, on Sundays, said their prayers when the bell rung at High Mass, at the consecrating of the Body of Christ; and to those who devoutly prayed for the soul of Catherine de Camera, whose body was buried in the said church, and for the health of John de Camera, Gilbert de Dukesfield, and Agnes his wife, as long as they lived, and for their souls when they were dead. Dated at 'Aumion' 2 July 1359. Appended (in a different hand) with the confirmation by Thomas (Hatfield), Bishop of Durham. Undated.
