Agreement between Thomas Tempeste of Lanchester in the County Palatine of Durham, gent., and his wife Elizabeth and the Bailiff, Burgesses and Commonalty of 'Gatyshedde' (Gateshead) concerning land in the lordship of Gateshead. Thomas and Elizabeth Tempeste are to possess and occupy a parcel of the said land lately belonging to the Hospital of 'Sancte Edmundes' (sic) the Confessor in 'Gatisshedde feyldes' (Gateshead fields) namely the 'Longe Flatte' and closes belonging to it, Pounder Close and Robson Close, and the Upper and Nether White Fields; the Bailiff and Burgesses and Commonalty are to possess and occupy the 'Stony Flatte' and closes belonging to it namely the 'Wynde Mylne Hyll' and 2 closes of 'Athersyde of Bencham'. Annotated with names (of the Bailiff and Burgesses and Commonalty). Signature of Anthony R. and marks of Nicholas and Robert Lawes. Seal and seal tag missing.
