Declaration by John, Prior of 'Dun'lm' (Durham), that he has paid the first instalment of a donation of 8s. 8d. in silver granted by the clergy to the King for the defence of the Kingdom and the Church due from the Diocese of Durham from the Nativity of St John the Baptist 1360. Dated at Dunlm (Durham). Oval (ecclesiastical) seal on seal tag. Text faded in places. Seal in good condition. Contained (with BRA/01/02/15) in a paper wrapper annotated 'Curious old deeds brought up with me from Newcastle upon Tyne Feb 7 1784'
