Grant by William Burnham, master of the hospital of the Blessed Virgin Mary in 'le Westgate', Newcastle upon Tyne, with the assent of the brothers of the hospital, to John Kyrkebryd, 'sclater' (slater?), of Newcastle upon Tyne, of a tenement in 'le Westgate' (Westgate) between the tenement of Robert Castell, chaplain, on the east, and the tenement of Thomas Heryngton on the west, extending from the King's highway before to the tenement of William de Esyngton at the back, reserving an annual fee of 10s in silver to be paid to the master and brothers of the hospital. 9 (named) witnesses including William de Esyngton, mayor of Newcastle upon Tyne. Dated at Newcastle. Oval seal (damaged) on seal tag.
