Notes provided on 77 castles. These include: Ayton, Bingley, Bridlington Priory, Castleton, Conisborough, Gisburn, Holme Tower, Leeds, Middleham, Otley, Pickering, Richmond, Scarborough, Sheffield, Skipton, Tadcaster, Wilton, York.
Wall has provided detailed notes on these castles and their rich histories, their locations and in many examples their structural composition.
Of note are the extensive writings on Conisborough, Helmsley and Knaresborough, Pickering, Pontefract, Middleham, Scarborough and York. All of these examples warrant multiple pages of text and drawings, including ground plans and sketches of their design, whilst also documenting in many cases year by year histories of the castles and the notable individuals associated with them. A booklet of the history of Scarborough castle is also attached.
