These are the most detailed notes in Wall's collection. They include detailed notes on the county’s history as well as the histories of each castle noted and its subsequent structural composition.
Of note are the numerous sketches of the castles, including ground plans and of some specific structures within. There are also multiple photos and postcards depicting the castles, notably Bamburgh castle. Norham castle is afforded over 40 pages of extensive notes on its history and of notable individuals who inhabited the castle. The same is true for Wark and Warkworth castle, which also have more sketches and photos.
