Notes provided on 44 castles. These include: Allington, Ashenfield, Broughton, Canterbury, Cowling, Deal, Dover, Folkestone, Hever, Leeds, Richborough, Rochester, Sandown, Sissinghurst, Sutton, Tonbridge.

Wall has provided details on the histories of these castles as well as their structural composition and the role they played in societal life. He also provided a brief history of the county and when most of the castles were constructed and for what purpose.

Of note are the sketch of Allington castle from Travels with a sketchbook and the extensive notes on Canterbury castle, which includes ground plans and structural sketches. Dover castle is apportioned great importance within the collection, with detailed extensive notes over more than 40 pages of its history. Unlike other examples Wall denotes specific structures, such as the donjon and walls, and references their histories separate from that of the main castle.
Leeds castle has also been apportioned greater significance and detail compared with others in the collection. These include sketches and photographs of the castle.

Two editions of the booklet ‘A Guide to Tonbridge castle’ are present.

Rochester castle is also afforded this level of detail, lithographed ground plans and sketches are present as well as photos of the seal of Rochester, which is noted as being in the Society’s collection.

A collection of postcards of Tonbridge castle are present as well as extensive notes on the castle and its history.
