Wall has provided details on the histories of the castles as well as the construction and layout of the structures, from their position to points of interest to the composition of the structures.
Of note are the extensive writings on Berkhamsted castle, of which an official written guide is provided, which details the castle’s rich history. This is twinned with Wall’s own detailed notes as well as sketches of ground plans. Hertford castle is also apportioned greater prominence amongst Wall’s descriptions.
