Tebbutt was a Huntingdonshire businessman and magistrate. His archaeological interests centred on St Neots and, after his retirement, Sussex. He published many papers in Sussex Arch. Coll., and was chairman of the Wealden Iron Research Group. See his obituary in A.J., 66 (1986), 508. The present letters are mostly routine; some relate to specific enquiries.
