Memoirs towards an History of the Antiquarian Society by Dr William Stukeley, FSA. Autograph. Addressed (fol. ii) to George, 2nd Earl of Macclesfield, FSA, 23 April 1752. Stukeley gives an account of the Elizabethan Society of Antiquaries, and his recollections of the foundation and early years of SA from 1717, with lists of founder members (additions in another hand, fols. 12, 13) and obits 1623-1752, fols. 23-4v.
