Scope and content
Handwritten notes on the history of the Imperial State Crown. There are a number of quotations given which describe the state crown as used by a number of monarchs between 1661 and 1838, as well as notes on the composition of stones over time. All notes are arranged chronologically by monarch and there is a typescript copy included. There are also descriptions given of the state crown and Queen's crowns used by Henry VIII and Charles I, detailing all jewels featured in them. There is also a copy of a coloured print of the State Crown of George I, with pencil notes on the reverse, noting the misidentification of some stones.
