The undated note describes the manuscript as containing 152 Psalms and ‘the ten songs of Moses’. It had been brought from Aleppo by an Armenian merchant, then offered for sale to the late Earl of Oxford, but was acquired by Cardinal Fleury for the library of Louis XV of France.
