Scope and content
in 1909 SAL was requested to supervise excavations at the Roman site of Verulamium, St Albans, Hertfordshire, but was unable to reach an excavation agreement with the landowner, Lord Verulamium. Excavations commenced in 1930 after an agreement was signed.
