Books of the bonds made on election by the Fellows for the payment of subscriptions
"Between 1764 and 1847 bonds were required of Fellows for the payment of dues and 905 survive for the years 1766-1845 bound in three volumes arranged for the most part in alphabetical order. Al have seals en placard but unfortunately most have the seals wafered by cutting the thick paper on which the legal form was printed instead of using a thinner piece placed over the shellac wax and impressing the seal through this. This means that most are illegible." Taken from "Seals on the Society of Antiquaries Fellow's Bonds c. 1766-1845" by John A Goodall, FSA, October 2001. A copy of this paper can be found in SAL/07/02/09.
