Salusbury Brereton on a date in Arabic discovered on the top of a very old trunk [detailed account] also bearing a date interpreted by the late Prof. Ward as 1464, with reference to a similar trunk in Sir Thomas Whitmore’s family at Apley, Shropshire.
Salusbury Brereton exhibits a fragment from the walls of an antient dwelling house lately inhabited by the Gattaker family of Gattaker, Shropshire.
Charles Lyttelton exhibits drawings of the square font at Bridekirk, Cumbria, with the Runick [sic] inscription on the south side of it, first found according to Camden at Pap-Castle, Cumbria [detailed account of Danish connection and Gents. Magazine reference (1740)].
William James presented a sketch of the font in the church at Brighthelmstone [Brighton] and of the tomb of Capt. Nicholas Tettersell in the cemetery.
[? John Thomas] Jones communicated an historical anecdote from a MS belonging to John Revett of Brandeston Suffolk relating to a suit of villainage instituted by Edmund, Earl of Suffolk, against William Revett Snr [detailed account].
